Oregon State University 2008 Senior Design Project - Reconfigurable Dynamic Robotics Limb (RDRL)

While traditional robotic manipulators act as self-contained systems with a single control unit, we designed the robotic limb to be a collaborative multi-agent system. The limb is able to withstand individual segment failure and still accomplish a dynamic goal such as tracking an object. A simulation environment was used for experimenting with various control schemes. Using the simulator we trained artificial neural networks on each segment of the limb to find an optimal control solution for each node.
